The nausea map 2026

The world nausea map

105 places where motion sickness is a known problem, each one plotted where it actually is. 13 of them sit in the top tier. Find the one near your next trip, then read what to do about it.

The world nausea map plots 54 rated journeys and 51 profiled theme parks on one world. Colour is the risk band from each place's own guide, so a dense patch of dark pins means the guides behind them report heavy motion. The map is a way into the guides, not a forecast.

The map

  • Notorious
  • Rough
  • Manageable
  • Gentle
  • Park, profiled but not scored

Swipe the map sideways to reach the rest of the world. Every place on it is also in the list below.

66 pins on the map, 105 places. Tap one to see what is there and open its guide.

How the map is built

Nothing here is measured on this page. Sea crossings, rides and road trips inherit the risk rating already published in their own guide, on the same four bands the Nausea Index uses: gentle 25, manageable 50, rough 75, notorious 92. Equal ratings tie, on purpose. The guides rate in bands, and pretending to finer precision than they carry would be making numbers up.

Theme parks are the exception, and they look different on the map for a reason. The park guides publish a written profile of what the lineup does to people, not a risk rating, so there is no park score to inherit. Rather than invent one, park pins are drawn hollow and carry their profile sentence instead of a number.

Coordinates come from each place itself: the water body for a crossing, the park for a ride, the midpoint of the two endpoint cities for a road trip, and the park or its city for a park. A midpoint is not a driven route, so a pin on a bending road sits near the trip rather than on the tarmac. Places within 1.5 degrees of each other share one pin with a count, because twenty separate dots on Orlando would be one unreadable blob.

Heading somewhere on the map? The free trip planner turns your date into a day by day checklist, and the two minute test tells you how much preparing matters for you.
