The Dizzout World Nausea Map puts 190 places on one motion sickness scale: 24 seas, 45 cruise ships, 12 rides, 46 road trips and 63 theme parks. 82 of them carry a rated score, 45 carry the motion rating from their own ship guide, and 63 carry a written profile instead. Colour is the risk band from each place's own guide, so a dense patch of dark pins means the guides behind them report heavy motion. The map is a way into the guides, not a forecast.

Methodology: how the Dizzout World Nausea Map is built

Nothing here is measured on this page. Sea crossings, rides and road trips inherit the risk rating already published in their own guide, on the same four bands the Dizzout Nausea Index uses: gentle 25, manageable 50, rough 75, notorious 92. Equal ratings tie, on purpose. The guides rate in bands, and pretending to finer precision than they carry would be making numbers up.

Two categories sit outside that scale, and they look different on the map for a reason. The park guides publish a written profile of what the lineup does to people, not a risk rating, so there is no park score to inherit. Rather than invent one, park pins are drawn hollow and carry their profile sentence instead of a number.

Cruise ships are the other one. Every ship guide publishes a motion rating from very low to high, and never a number, so ship pins are squares rather than dots and say “rated moderate” where a sea says “75 rough”. The colour still comes from the rating: very low and low draw gentle, moderate draws manageable, high draws rough. No ship is coloured in the top band, because no ship guide rates one there.

Coordinates come from each place itself: the water body for a crossing, the park for a ride, the midpoint of the two endpoint cities for a road trip, and the park or its city for a park. A ship is not in one place at all, so its pin sits at its homeport, which is the part of a cruise you can actually plan around. Ships whose guide names no homeport are left off the map rather than pinned somewhere plausible. A midpoint is not a driven route, so a pin on a bending road sits near the trip rather than on the tarmac. Places within 1.5 degrees of each other share one pin with a count, because twenty separate dots on Orlando, or a dozen on Port Canaveral, would be one unreadable blob.
