Gardaland is a balanced resort park on Lake Garda, not a nausea gauntlet, but its compact thrill core hits hard for its size: Oblivion: The Black Hole dives vertically into a tunnel, Blue Tornado runs five inversions with your feet dangling, Raptor plays near-miss games on wing seats, and Space Vertigo drops you 40 m straight down. Around that core sits one of Europe's better family layouts: Peppa Pig Land, the Ortobruco Tour kids' coaster and the Flying Island panoramic platform give sensitive visitors real alternatives. So the reputation depends on which Gardaland you visit: the thrill loop earns respect, but the park as a whole is one of the easier Italian days out for a mixed group with different stomachs.

When your stomach needs a break, head for Flying Island (panoramic platform), Ortobruco Tour (kids coaster) or Peppa Pig Land rides. Slow visuals, a fixed horizon and a seat that is not spinning give your inner ear time to settle before the next big ride.
