Yes, and the density is the problem rather than any single ride. Energylandia is Poland's biggest park and it grew into the European elite by building coasters faster than almost anyone, so the intense rides come one after another with little in between. Abyssus launches forward and backward through inversions, Zadra pairs a steep twisting drop with inversions on a hybrid wood and steel track, Formula launches straight into its inversions, and Mayan runs an inverted layout with tight, abrupt transitions. Speed adds a water coaster with steep drops. The saving grace is the 2024 Sweet Valley family zone and a sightseeing train, which give you somewhere to go that is not another inversion.

The rides most likely to set you off

Abyssus is the hardest of them for a sensitive rider, because of the backward passes. Riding a launch in reverse removes the one thing that usually helps on a coaster, which is seeing where you are about to go. Your body takes the forces a fraction before your eyes can explain them, and doing that twice in one ride is what separates Abyssus from the rest of the lineup.

Where to reset between rides

When your stomach needs a break, head for Magic Fly (sightseeing train), Wonder Wheel (ferris wheel), Big Fairytale Carousel Sissi or Bumble Boats (slow boats, summer season). Slow visuals, a fixed horizon and a seat that is not spinning give your inner ear time to settle before the next big ride.

Your survival plan for Energylandia

  1. 1

Do the big coasters in the first two hours. Abyssus, Zadra and Formula are all launches, and launches punish a full stomach hardest.

  2. 2

Treat Abyssus as its own decision. If riding backward is your trigger, no amount of tolerance for the other coasters will carry you through it.

  3. 3

Leave a real gap after Mayan. Inverted layouts with abrupt transitions keep working on you after you step off.

  4. 4

Ride the Magic Fly train or the Wonder Wheel between coasters. Both are slow with a clear view out, which lets your inner ear settle.

  5. 5

Use Sweet Valley as the regroup point if you are with children, then rotate the thrill riders out in pairs.

  6. 6

Keep headphones with you and start Dizzout at the first sign of queasiness. It is drug-free and works with any headphones, and most people feel better in about 90 seconds.

Going with kids

The Sweet Valley family zone opened in 2024 and gives younger children a base away from the big coasters. A sightseeing train, a ferris wheel, a carousel and slow boats fill the rest of a gentle day.

Common questions

Which Energylandia ride is worst for motion sickness?+

Abyssus, for most sensitive riders, because it launches backward as well as forward. Facing the wrong way removes the visual warning your brain normally gets before a force arrives, and the ride does it more than once.

Is Energylandia too much if I get motion sick easily?+

It is a demanding park, because the coasters are dense and most of them invert. It works if you go in with a short list rather than trying to ride everything, and if you use the train, the wheel and the family zone as scheduled breaks rather than afterthoughts.

Is there enough at Energylandia for non-riders?+

There is a reasonable amount. A sightseeing train, a ferris wheel, a carousel and slow boats cover a calm day, and the Sweet Valley zone added more family capacity in 2024. Non-riders get less than at a park built around dark rides, so expect a shorter visit.
