Google's Motion Assist started arriving on Galaxy phones running One UI 9 on Android 17. It comes through Google Play services 26.33.32 or later rather than a One UI update, so it sits under the Google section of Settings. When did Android get motion sickness dots?
Phone makers got there first. Honor added Motion Sickness Relief with the Honor 300 series in China in December 2024, and OnePlus, OPPO and vivo shipped their own versions in October 2025. Google's Motion Assist, which works across brands on Android 17, started rolling out on August 25, 2026, was widely rolled out on Pixels by mid September, and began arriving on Galaxy phones with One UI 9 on September 15, 2026.
When did the iPhone get motion sickness dots?
Apple announced Vehicle Motion Cues on May 15, 2024 and shipped it with iOS 18 on September 16, 2024. It came to Mac laptops with macOS Tahoe 26 on September 15, 2025.
Does Google's Motion Assist work on every Android phone?
No. It needs Android 17 or later and an up to date Google Play services. It reached Pixel phones first, then Galaxy phones on One UI 9, and the Play services v26.37 release on September 21, 2026 opened it to other Android 17 phones. Everything else depends on when the phone gets Android 17, and delivery is staged, so an eligible phone can take a while to show it.
