One UI 9 motion sickness dots: the rollout tracker
Updated September 26, 2026. Next dates to watch: September 28 for the S25 series and the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, per Samsung's published schedule.
As of September 26, 2026, the motion sickness dots, Google's Motion Assist, are live on the Galaxy S26 FE, S26 Ultra and the Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 series, on One UI 9 beta phones, and on Galaxy S26 units with the stable update, which reached Korea on September 16 and US carrier units on September 23. Samsung's published schedule lists the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 for September 28, the S23 FE for October, and no date yet for the S24, S23 or A series. Dates on that schedule have slipped once already and can differ by region, so the table below is Samsung's plan, and your own Settings app is the final word.
Where the rollout stands, model by model
The dots reach a Galaxy in two steps: the phone needs One UI 9 on Android 17, and Motion Assist then arrives through Google Play services, staged. This table tracks the first step, because it is the one Samsung publishes dates for.

How to turn the dots on once One UI 9 lands
Motion Assist comes from the Google side of the phone, not from Samsung's own menus, so it is not under Accessibility. The ten-second check:
- Open Settings and search for motion assist.
- No result? Swipe down twice and look for a Motion Assist tile in the Quick Panel, or add it from the Quick Panel editor.
- Still nothing? Go to Settings > Google > All services > Personal & device safety and look for Motion Assist.

The same schedule's S26 date has already slipped once and dates can be regional, so treat it as Samsung's plan rather than a promise. An S25 on the One UI 9 beta has Motion Assist already; on stable One UI 8 there is nothing to switch on yet.
When does the Galaxy S24 get the motion sickness dots?+
Samsung has not published a One UI 9 date for the Galaxy S24 series yet. The S24 phones are in the announced One UI 9 beta program, and the published schedule so far names only the S26 and S25 series, the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, and the S23 FE in October. When the S24's One UI 9 update lands, Motion Assist arrives with it through Google Play services.
Do the motion sickness dots need One UI 9 on a Samsung?+
Yes. On a Galaxy the dots are Google's Motion Assist, which needs Android 17, and One UI 9 is Samsung's Android 17 release. It also needs Google Play services 26.33.32 or later, and it is not under Accessibility: search Settings for motion assist, check the Quick Panel, or look under Settings, Google, All services, then Personal and device safety.
