Why Guild Wars 2 can trigger motion sickness
Some skills and effects shake the camera in Guild Wars 2. There are two options for it: a general Camera Shake option and Disable Player Camera Shake. A camera teleportation option makes the view jump straight to your new spot after a teleport, which MetaBattle says easily makes you dizzy. The camera section also has Field of View and rotation speed sliders, and the graphics postprocessing settings include Depth Blur.
- Camera shake from skills and other players in big fights
- Sudden camera jumps after a teleport, when camera teleportation is on
- Postprocessing effects such as depth blur

Comfort settings in Guild Wars 2

| Setting | Where | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Camera Shake | Options (F11) > General Options > Camera | Turn it off. Guides from Guildjen and Snow Crows both say to disable it |
| Disable Player Camera Shake | Options (F11) > General Options > Camera | Check it. Snow Crows says camera shake can cause dizziness or motion sickness |
| Enable Camera Teleportation | Options (F11) > General Options > Camera | Leave it unchecked. MetaBattle says it easily makes you dizzy |
| Field of View | Options (F11) > General Options > Camera | Move the slider to find your comfort point. ArenaNet says moving it right makes the field of view larger |
| Camera Rotation Speed | Options (F11) > General Options > Camera | Lower it so the camera turns more slowly |
| Depth Blur | Options (F11) > Graphics Options | Turn it off if blurred backgrounds bother you |

Frequently asked questions
How do I turn off camera shake in Guild Wars 2?
Press F11 to open the options and go to General Options. In the camera settings, turn off Camera Shake and check Disable Player Camera Shake. Snow Crows says camera shake can cause dizziness or motion sickness.
Can I change the field of view in Guild Wars 2?
Yes. ArenaNet announced a Field of View slider in February 2015 for its March camera update. Moving the slider left shrinks the field of view and moving it right makes it larger.
Can I play Guild Wars 2 in first person?
Yes. ArenaNet says that when Enable First-Person Camera is on, zooming in all the way puts the camera in first-person view.
