Icarus Motion Sickness: Why It Happens & What Helps
Icarus is a first-person survival game from RocketWerkz, and you can switch to a third-person view. RocketWerkz added a gameplay setting to disable camera shake in February 2023, and the field of view setting sits in the Display settings. Patch notes also mention motion blur being enabled, so it appears to be an option. A console edition came to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March 2026; the settings here come from PC patch notes. Checked October 2026.

Why Icarus can trigger motion sickness
You explore, hunt and fight on foot in first person, and you ride mounts. RocketWerkz has added screen shake to many creature attacks, mount kicks and boss fights over the years, and the camera has to follow every step. The developers added a setting to disable camera shake because some players found the effects too disruptive.
- Screen shake from creature attacks, footsteps and boss fights
- First-person movement while exploring, hunting and fighting
- Riding mounts, where the camera moves with the animal
