Why Ready or Not can trigger motion sickness
You clear tight rooms and corridors in first person, and checking corners means frequent camera turns. VOID's Dark Waters notes describe screen shake, recoil and visual momentum when you look around. Its briefing on the Dark Waters mission Leviathan describes visual sway that grows near the edges of the oil rig. You can turn down motion blur and adjust the field of view, but the sources opened name no setting for sway or screen shake.
- Screen shake, recoil and visual momentum when you look around, which VOID updated with the Dark Waters release
- Visual sway that grows near the edges of the oil rig in the Dark Waters mission Leviathan
- Motion blur, if the intensity slider is left up
- Tight rooms and corridors that fill the screen at close range

Comfort settings in Ready or Not
Ready or Not ships some comfort settings, but not a full set.
| Setting | Where | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Motion blur intensity | In-game settings | Turn the slider all the way down. VOID added it in the December 2022 Adam update |
| World FOV | In-game settings | Widen it a step at a time if rooms feel closed in, and test each change |
| Weapon FOV | In-game settings | Adjust it so the gun takes up less of the screen if that feels better. VOID's notes confirm world and weapon FOV can differ |
One guide explains these settings for every game: how field of view, motion blur, head bob and camera shake trigger motion sickness.

The fixes people reach for once they step away from the screen are covered separately, with the trials attached: the remedy verdicts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn off motion blur in Ready or Not?
Ready or Not has a motion blur intensity slider, added in the December 2022 Adam update. Turn it all the way down. VOID's March 2026 notes fixed a bug where motion blur switched off when you changed other graphics settings, so check the slider after any graphics change.
Can you change the FOV in Ready or Not?
Yes. VOID's patch notes refer to separate world and weapon FOV values and to playing at higher FOVs. The notes do not give the range, the default or the menu path.
Is there a head bob setting in Ready or Not?
The sources we opened do not show one. VOID's notes mention screen shake, recoil and visual momentum when looking around, but they name no setting to turn these off.
Why does Ready or Not make me feel sick?
It is played in first person in tight spaces, with screen shake, recoil and visual momentum when you look around. The Dark Waters mission Leviathan adds visual sway near the edges of its oil rig. Turn motion blur down and try field of view changes first.
