Why Green Hell can trigger motion sickness
You see the jungle through Jake's eyes, and the camera moves with his walk. In a 2020 Steam thread, one player blamed the head bob when turning the camera. Others pointed to the field of view, but they disagreed: some wanted it wider, one said lowering it removed a fish-eye effect. Creepy Jar later fixed the missing head bobbing toggle and extended the maximum field of view. The sources opened do not name the menu each option sits in, and they do not list a motion blur or camera shake setting.
- Head bob as you walk and turn, which a player named in a 2020 Steam thread
- The field of view, which players in the same thread wanted changed, some wider and some narrower
- Fast camera turns with the mouse or stick

Frequently asked questions
How do I turn off head bob in Green Hell?
Green Hell has a head bobbing option you can turn off. Creepy Jar's patch V.1.5.5 notes fixed the missing "option to turn off Head Bobbing". The patch notes do not name the menu it sits in, so look through the game's Options.
Can you change the FOV in Green Hell?
Yes. Creepy Jar added a FOV option for the 1.0 launch in 2019 and enhanced the FOV system and its maximum range in patch V2.1.6 in 2021. The patch notes do not give the range or the default.
Why does Green Hell make me feel sick?
It is played in first person and the camera bobs with your movement. In a 2020 Steam thread, a player blamed the head bob, and others pointed to the field of view. Turn off head bobbing first, then test field of view changes.
