CarX Street Motion Sickness: Why It Happens & What Helps

CarX Street is a street racer with chase and cockpit cameras, and its camera has drawn motion sickness complaints on the Steam forum. The developer's answer is in the 1.16.0 public test, posted on October 10, 2026: camera comfort settings that reduce camera shake, reduce the camera's response to speed changes, and stabilize the horizon. On PC, field of view settings for the third-person cameras have been in the live game since July 2025.

Why CarX Street can trigger motion sickness

At street-racing speed the camera shakes, shifts with every change of speed and tilts through corners, while your body sits still. Your eyes see that motion and your inner ear feels none of it, and that mismatch is what motion sickness is. Steam players in 2025 and 2026 ask for a way to remove the camera movement, and the developer's 1.16.0 test notes name the same three things: shake, response to speed changes and a tilting horizon. Until 1.16.0 reaches the main game, the field of view setting is the tool the live game gives you.

  • Camera shake and sway at speed, most noticeable in the chase view
  • A camera that responds to every change of speed
  • A horizon that tilts through corners and drifts

Comfort settings in CarX Street

CarX Street ships some comfort settings, but not a full set.

SettingWhereRecommendation
Camera shake reduction (1.16.0 public test)In-game settingsTurn it down as far as it goes. It is in the public test build, so the live game may not have it yet
Camera response to speed changes (1.16.0 public test)In-game settingsReduce it, so the view moves less as you accelerate and brake
Horizon stabilization (1.16.0 public test)In-game settingsTurn it on
Field of view (third-person cameras)In-game settingsAdjust it in small steps. The range on PC is 30 to 90. Keep the value where the road looks natural

One guide explains these settings for every game: how field of view, motion blur, head bob and camera shake trigger motion sickness.

What helps beyond the settings

  • On Steam, try the camera comfort settings early: right-click CarX Street, open Properties, go to Betas and select the public_test branch, labeled PTR
  • Keep your eyes on the road ahead and the horizon, not on the car or the edges of the screen
  • Race in short blocks, and stop at the first queasy signal. Look at something still and far away until it passes

The fixes people reach for once they step away from the screen are covered separately, with the trials attached: the remedy verdicts.

Frequently asked questions

Does CarX Street have a camera shake setting?

It is coming. The developer's 1.16.0 public test notes, posted on October 10, 2026, say camera comfort settings were added: you can reduce camera shake, reduce the camera's response to speed changes, and enable horizon stabilization. Those notes are for the public test build, so check the live patch notes for the release. The notes do not cover the phone versions or give a menu path.

Does CarX Street have a field of view setting?

On PC, yes. Update 1.7.2, in July 2025, added FOV settings for all third-person cameras, and PCGamingWiki lists a range of 30 to 90. The notes do not give the menu path, so look in the camera settings. The developer added camera settings in update 1.0.5.

How do I try the CarX Street 1.16.0 camera comfort settings?

On Steam, open your library, right-click CarX Street and select Properties. Go to the Betas section, select the public_test branch, labeled PTR, wait for the download and launch the game. This is the developer's own route to the test build. Expect bugs, because it is a test.
