Dizzout and Ummi are partnering in Dubai

DizzoutUmmi, opens ummi.ai

Dizzout is partnering with Ummi, the AI-powered kiosk network built for the Gulf. Ummi puts fresh food, drinks and everyday essentials inside buildings across the region, open around the clock and running without staff. Dizzout stops motion sickness with sound therapy in about 90 seconds. The two belong together because of something most travelers get backwards: skipping food before a journey does not protect you from motion sickness, it makes you more likely to feel it. Dizzout will be available at selected Ummi stations in Dubai.

Why an empty stomach makes it worse

The instinct before a rough trip is to eat nothing. If there is nothing in your stomach, the thinking goes, there is nothing to lose. It does not work that way. An empty stomach sits alongside heat, poor sleep and a hangover on the short list of things that reliably make a journey harder.

The standard advice runs in both directions at once. Eat something small and plain an hour or two before you travel rather than nothing, and skip the heavy, greasy or spicy option and the alcohol, which the NHS advises avoiding shortly before and during travel. Which means the useful move is not willpower, it is having the right small thing within reach.

That is harder than it sounds at 5 a.m. before an airport run, at a service stop, or in a hotel lobby at midnight. Kitchens are shut and the only thing open sells candy and energy drinks. It is exactly the gap a station that never closes fills. What to eat before a trip goes through it properly.

Who Ummi is

Ummi builds AI-powered vending and robotic kiosks for food and drink, pharmacy, cosmetics and everyday essentials, available 24/7 and running with no staff on site. Their smart fridges serve fresh meals, snacks and beverages around the clock, and they place them with property owners across the region.

The company is built for the GCC specifically: climate-proof hardware, regional compliance and multi-language screens, which is a different engineering problem from dropping a vending machine in a European lobby. You can see the full range at ummi.ai.

What is coming in Dubai

Dizzout will be available at selected Ummi stations in Dubai. The logic is that the person standing at the kiosk at six in the morning, picking up water and something plain to eat, is already doing the first half of the job. The station can hand them the other half at the same moment, before the drive rather than forty minutes into it.

Which locations go live first, and when, is being confirmed. If you run a building, a terminal, a hotel or a fleet in the Gulf and want a station in it, both companies are open to that conversation: hello@dizzout.com.

What to pick up before you travel

  • Something small and plain, an hour or two before you go. Crackers, bread, plain rice, a banana.
  • Water, in steady sips rather than one large drink.
  • Not the heavy, greasy or spicy option, and not alcohol. Both make the same journey feel worse.
  • Headphones, so Dizzout is ready before the nausea starts rather than after it has taken hold.

Common questions

Does eating actually stop motion sickness?

No, and nothing on this page says it does. Food removes one thing that reliably makes a journey rougher. Traveling on nothing and traveling on a heavy, greasy meal both tend to leave people feeling worse; something small and plain sits between them. For the motion sickness itself, Dizzout uses sound therapy through any headphones and usually settles it in about 90 seconds.

Where can I find Dizzout at an Ummi station in Dubai?

The first Dubai locations are being confirmed. You do not have to wait for one: Dizzout is free to download on iOS and Android today and works anywhere.

Do I need Ummi to use Dizzout?

No. Dizzout works with any standard headphones, wired or Bluetooth, wherever you are. The partnership puts it in front of people at the moment they are stocking up for a journey, which is the moment it is most useful.

What does Ummi sell?

Depending on the station: fresh meals, snacks and drinks, plus over-the-counter pharmacy items, cosmetics and everyday essentials. The kiosks and smart fridges run 24 hours a day without staff, and the company builds them for Gulf conditions.

Is Dizzout free?

Free to download on iOS and Android. Full access is a paid subscription.

Is this a medical claim about food?

No. The eating guidance here is ordinary travel advice, the same guidance public health services give for travel sickness. Dizzout is drug-free sound therapy, not a medicine, and neither company is telling you what to do about a medical condition. If you are pregnant, traveling with a young child, or managing a health condition, talk to your doctor first.
